For Children in Need
Dear God, each day I get up in the morning, I ask that your will be done,
not mine for the day. At this time of the year, I see the loss my
clients feel by not having parents or others that care. I pray that
each day I can fill just a little void in their lives, but especially at
this time of the year. Amen. -- P.D., Youth Shelter Counselor
Dear Heavenly Father, we pray for the children who have had to watch their
parents say good bye and for those who never got the chance. We pray
for the children who have never tasted birthday cake, who cannot find any
bread to steal, who do not have rooms to clean up, and whose pictures aren’t
on anyone’s dresser. And Lord we pray for those children whose
monsters are real, whose nightmares come in the light of day, and for the
ones who will grab the hand of anyone kind enough to offer it. Father,
we ask that you use us as your vessels to protect them, give them shelter,
feed their bodies and their souls, give them love, healing and hope for a
better future. In Jesus’ sweet name we pray. Amen. --
T.M., Executive Assistant
Let us have faith in our
children, let us be kind to our children, let us be patient with our
children and let us really love our children. Our children are God’s gift to
us and it is the most precious of all our gifts. Amen. --
R.C., Regional Director
Dear Lord, We lift up to you,
all of the case managers and supervisors, who are your "hands and feet" to
the children under protective supervision, foster care, and adoption. May
you work in and through them as they give of themselves to bring hope and
stability in their lives. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

God of care and compassion, we
pray for our children, your children, who are often the least, the last and
the lonely among us. May you allow all of us to be your vehicles along
with LSF for healing, help, hope and yes, even home. In the midst of
difficult economic times, you provide opportunities to look beyond our own
needs to the needs of others who have no voice. Amen. --

Lord Jesus Christ, you said,
“Suffer the little children to come to me…” Please hold and protect
the frightened and hurting children in your loving arms, giving comfort,
strength and healing to them and their families. Amen. --
